The Skriker by Caryl Churchill

April 7, 2018, 7:30pm - April 21, 2018, 7:30pm

Fortune's Fool Theatre presents The Skriker By Caryl Churchill April 7-April 22. “Whatever you do don't open the do don't open the door.” The Skriker is an ailing, malevolent shape-shifting fairy from the underworld. Mankind is destroying the earth, the underworld is suffering, and the Skriker wants revenge. Leaving her realm for London, she finds and pursues two teenage girls: Josie, who has murdered her infant child, and Lily, who is pregnant. Speaking in riddles, changing her shape at every new encounter (at one point, even assuming the shape of a couch), the Skriker relentlessly hunts Lily and Josie, determined to gain control over their souls. A wild chorus of dancing, pounding, singing, and wailing spirits, drawn from English folk tales, serve the Skriker in her pursuit. The production will feature original music by Keith Hovis. Ben Layne will direct and Josiah Thompson will choreograph. Featuring: Megan Anderson, Brynn Berryhill, Mary Davis, Gabrielle Dominique, Leah Eckardt, Gail Estelle, Sheree Froelich, Keith Hovis, Stephanie Johnson, Nicole Laurenne, Ariel Leaf, Nissa Nordland Morgan, Michael Quadrozzi, Heather Jo Raiter, Haley Sisler, Josiah Thompson, and David Wasserman April 7,8,12,13,14,15,20&21 @ 730pm April 22 @ 230 pm April 12 pay what you can $20 general admission $18 student, senior, fringe button www.brownpapertickets.com
